My HVAC controls are not lighting up anymore. I thought it was a blown bulb or something. So I tore into it on lunch. The stock stereo and the hvac controls are all one unit. To get the aftermarket head unit to fit it needs to control the HVAC now.
It turns out there are no bulbs. There is what looks like an electroluminescent strip.
The strip takes power into this box which looks like it exploded. Sorry for the potato but you can see it is deformed.

It's hard to tell from the photo (because there is no overall perspective) but that looks like a relay which has failed. Relays are very cheap and you should be able to replace it yourself.

If you can get access to a wiring diagram you can confirm whether I'm right, but I'm almost positive soo.

It is part of the aftermarket kit so I'll look through the documentation that I've got.

Being aftermarket makes it a little harder because you can't go to the dealer and have them find the right part. Once you look through what you have let me know if you find anything so I can be more help to have you get the right part to fix it.
